Every grown up should once in a while get on a swing set and re-discover the giddyness, playfulness, moving perspective of having the sky, then the ground, then the sky again cycle through your entire field of vision, that sense of gravity letting up, almost weightless at the peak...

Twin Lights Cannon

As a National Historic Landmark, the Highlands, NJ Twin Lights joins the ranks of notable sites such as Mount Vernon and Pearl Harbor. Fewer than 2,500 historic places bear this national distinction. Situated 200 feet above sea level atop the Navesink Highlands, Twin Lights has stood as a sentinel over the treacherous coastal waters of northern New Jersey since 1828
